BCHS Centennial Reunion

More than 350 alumni attended the Centennial Reunion held on Friday, June 1st, and Saturday, June 2nd. A relaxing dinner was held at The Cadre Building in downtown Memphis, where classmates and their guests mingled and enjoyed the music by The Brian Breeze Jazz band. Alumni and guests were also having a fun time with the photo booth and receiving photos on site to carry home with them. A highlight of the evening was a return of The Nightingales, a former glee club from the Baptist Memorial School of Nursing.

On Saturday, a luncheon was held at The Peabody Memphis in the Grand Ball Room. The special speaker was Jeanne Robertson, a humorist and well-known professional speaker who can be seen on YouTube and is on Syrius radio. The audience laughed for more than 30 minutes to her many interesting stories.

Erma Oliver, president of the Alumni Board of Directors presented the 2012 Alumni Awards. The first award was the Young Alumni Award given to Patti Whitlock, a 2008 diagnostic medical sonography graduate. Patti is a staff pediatric sonographer at Methodist LeBonheur Hospital, Memphis. The Alumni Service Award was presented to Teresa Dawson, nursing RN-BSN Class of 2001 and director of the Baptist Heart Institute. Last, the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award was presented to Jane Brasher McDaniel, nursing Class of 1951.
