Since all enrolled students are required to have personal health insurance to protect themselves in the event of illnesses or accidents, the college offers student health insurance coverage available through Aetna Student Health. Students taking at least one hour who are in our regular academic programs are eligible at the rate of $500 per trimester per student. Spouse and child coverage is available for an additional fee and may be accessed through the Aetna Student Health website.
Please note that every student is required to provide proof of insurance upon initial enrollment at the college and during all official registration periods. All students are required to complete an online Verification of Health Insurance by the last day to change/add a course date each trimester. If you do not show proof of insurance, you will be enrolled in the student health insurance the college provides and will be billed at the time tuition and fees are assessed. To verify that you have health insurance or to sign up for the health insurance offered by the college, follow these directions:
- Go to http://mybchs.
- Click on "Student Home Page" on the left side of the screen.
- Click on "Registrar" on the left side of the screen.
- Click on "Verification of Health Insurance" on the left side of the screen.
- Complete the form that appears.
- Click on "Submit."
- You will receive a message indicating it was submitted successfully.
