Allied Health Majors (Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Radiography, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiation Therapy, and Respiratory Care)

All freshman and transfer students must first be accepted to the College and then apply for acceptance to an allied health program by published deadlines.

Requirements for admission to the professional programs in allied health include: 

 Admission into the professional phase of an allied health major is determined by each program. This includes application to the program and a competitive selection process. 

Students who complete their prerequisite coursework at Baptist College, and who meet the minimum admissions criteria for the professional program, will be given priority consideration. We strongly recommend that students plan to attend Baptist College as a beginning freshman to complete all prerequisite coursework.

 The minimum cumulative college GPA to apply to each allied health program is 2.70 (on 4.0 scale).  To be competitive in the allied health professional program selection process, however, applicants should maintain a cumulative college GPA of 3.0 and have “B’s” or above in prerequisite science and math courses.

 The admissions criteria of each professional major/program in allied health include:­  

-  Completion of an application for admission to the professional program and submission of all required credentials by the stated deadline.­  

- Completion of a minimum number of prerequisite courses (set by each program)­  

-  Academic performance in your previous college courses will be combined with your academic performance at BCHS­  to determine your overall GPA. 

- Knowledge of the career and your interpersonal skills.

- Participation in an interview, if required.
