From the diagnosis of a fracture to the discovery of a tumor, the expertise of the Medical Radiographer is essential to aid the radiologist in the proper diagnosis of a patient. The Medical Radiographer may be working in a hospital Radiology department, the operating room, the emergency department or one of the specialty areas, which include CT, MRI, mammography and interventional radiography. Many clinics and physicians offices offer opportunities for employment, as well. Some radiographers choose to use their radiography skills in other career fields such as education, marketing, or technical applications.
