Achievements
The DMS Program at BCHS is very proud of the achievements of all graduates and students. The faculty encourage students to pursue life long learning and participation in scholarly activities. Listed below are many of the achievements and awards earned by current students, alumni, clinical instructors, and faculty.
Alpha Eta Honor Society
The Alpha Eta Honor Society is a National Scholastic Honor Society for Allied Health Professions. Faculty and students are elibigle for membership. The criteria for students include:
- GPA of 3.5 of higher by the end of the Senior Fall Trimester
- Shown capacity for leadership and achievement in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- 2012 Indcutees were Jamie Strutton and Emily Tawater
Awards
Several awards for outstanding performance and committment to excellence have been given to DMS alumni, students, and faculty. It is an honor for the DMS Major to recognize them.

Presentations
DMS alumni and clinical faculty are often seen in the community serving as presentors at sonography educational events. This demonstrates the desire to educate others in the field of sonography. Students receive basic presentation instruction throughout the DMS curriculum to encourage them to participate in educational events in the future.

Publications
The faculty of the DMS major encourage students to participate in scholary activities such as journal article writing. The activity is part of the curriculum and when completed students have the option to submit the final project for publication. We have also had several alumni, clinical instructors, and faculty publish articles as part of their continued committment to life long learning.
- 2011- Mitzi Roberts and Ann Willis published several chapters in the sonography textbook entitled-Textbook of Diagnostic Medical Sonography by Sandy Hagen-Ansert
